• 12 Mar 2005 , 02:02:58 The Craft Makers of Bantul Display Their Products at JES`05Six craft makers of Bantul Regency display their products at Jogja Expo Sekaten (JES) 2005 at Northsquare of Yogyakarta. The six craft makers are Suradi, Yuli, Dewolo, Surya Usaha Mandiri, Priyono and Waru Doyong ceramic. Coordinated by the Department of Industry, Commerce and Cooperation of Bantul Regency, the craft makers are in one stand.
The products of Bantul, which are displayed in Sekaten Fair with a new concept, are wooden batik, handwriting batik, and coconut shelf and tailored craft. Haryanti, the owner of Surya Usaha Mandiri, says that regarded from transaction sector retail in an exhibition is uncertain, but an exhibition means a chance to attract candidate of buyers. "It is expected that from this exhibition our products will be known-well and makes the potential buyers come to have big order one day," the coconut shelf craft makers said after the opening ceremony of JES `05.
Meanwhile, Suradi was also in one accord that the transaction value in an exhibition is uncertain. "If the profit can cover the operational cost, we take it as a good condition, but we expect that we will get big transaction after following this exhibition, either from local or foreign buyers," he said.
JES`05, which was begun at Northsquare on Friday on March 11th, was opened by Sri Sultan HB X symbolically done by pressing siren button. There were various traditional arts and soldier march of Yogyakarta Sultanate Palace in the JES 05. JES is a new concept of Sekaten Fair. It is ongoing from March 11th to April 22nd, 2005. The entry ticket is Rp 3.500.
