Hereditarily Bantul Society clenches on customs and the great Javanese culture. It is inherence with the influence of Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Sultanate, which sticks on the society. Some regions in Bantul still maintain tradition rite hereditarily as a means to thank God for his blessing showering, and also as a respectful to their ancestors. The rite is known well as 'Merti Dusun' (village cleansing), throwing offerings into the sea and so on. Bantul society also maintains traditional arts, like puppet, karawitan (gamelan music) and dances. |
