Sands dune, which is located on west of Parangkusumo beach, is nature laboratory. The nature laboratory existence is desirable to understand nature condition and its indication which is unknown by human yet. Nature condition is various and it is not understood well, yet. One of those is the existence of sands dune at tropical region.

Sands dune in tropical region is various, and the most unique is barchan type finding which in Indonesia is only found in Parangtritis tourism object area, Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yoyakarta. The existence of barchan type sands dune in Parangtritis is so unique and attractive to be examined, understood, and preserved. This sands-knoll is attractive, if it is viewed as tourism object.
