According to Surakso Sudarmo (50) as one of Cepuri keepers, the rock stone was Panembahan Senopati’s (a Mataram’s aristocrat) ruins and a meeting place between Panembahan Senopati and Ratu Kidul (Queen of South Sea who is predominant). Cepuri is an important place for cultural and spiritual ceremony, such as labuhan (throw offerings into the sea) ceremony. The discard offerings must be entered to the Cepuri and prayed by Cepuri keeper before the offerings is discarded into the sea.
Visitors may not be able to come in and out at the Panembahan Senopati’s ruins, as they want. They should put off their shoes or sandals before entering Cepuri area and they should keep silent. Most of visitors come from other regions. They come bringing different wishes. Some of them want to get couple, richness, charismatic and so on. “But, I should underline that this place is not a dedicating place. I always remind the visitors that this place is only a praying place. The visitor must pray to the almighty God, not to these two rocky stones, Surakso Kardiyo (59) one of Cepuri keepers says to the reporter of Bantulbiz.com.
This place is daily opened and crowded on night before Thursday ‘Kliwon’ (Javanese’s day) and Friday ‘Kliwon’. This place still keeps a lot of mysterious things. Cepuri keeper says that some visitors get possessed at this place. They usually break the rule and bring negative desire. “This proves the almighty God and as a sign for human so that they are not arrogant or having characteristic of ‘adigang, adigung’ adiguna’ (Javanese’s aphorism means don’t be arrogant because of his richness, power, smartness) to any God’s creatures,” Surakso Tarwono as the leader of Cepuri keepers suggests.
